All of us, barring few exceptions, like freebies. Whenever we read or see that something is free, we get attracted to it. Mostly we ensure that somehow we get those freebies. Many a times, especially when we buy some asset like a car, we demand for freebies. In short, we don’t mind accepting the things coming to us for free.
My profession requires me to interact with variety of people everyday. I don’t know how and when I developed this habit of observing people, their actions, their gestures, their responses etc. Every time I do so, these kind of so called ‘spiritual’ thoughts flash in my mind.
Every day, we perform various roles. We are obedient child of our parents, we are caring and loving parent of our kids, we are employee or employer, team leader or team member, boss, manager, supervisor, commuter, passenger, customer, supplier…. What not? The list can continue to any extent. But while performing all these roles, do we really look at ourselves for a second? Do we really know ourselves? I am not asking about your physical appearance. I am asking about your inner self.
Many a times, you tend to forget over a period of time, what exactly you wanted to be. Many of us become what they wanted to, many more become what situation wants them to be. In either of the case, what we forget is to nurture ourselves and make ourselves a good human being.
Without stretching it long, I would like to request your comments on a statement made by one of seniors in the profession. He said,”Be a good human being, you will become a good professional.”
What do you say….?
