Job Summary:
The Bank Statutory Audit Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the statutory audit team in conducting thorough examinations of financial statements and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves assisting in the planning, execution, and reporting phases of statutory audits for banking institutions.

Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and organizing the statutory audit process for banking clients, including understanding client requirements, assessing risks, and developing audit strategies.
Participate in the testing of internal controls, financial transactions, and account balances to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
Conduct substantive testing procedures, including sampling techniques, analytical procedures, and substantive analytical review, to assess the fairness of financial statement presentation.
Collaborate with audit team members to gather and analyze financial data, supporting documentation, and audit evidence to substantiate audit findings.
Document audit procedures, workpapers, and findings in accordance with auditing standards and firm policies for review by senior auditors.
Assist in drafting audit reports summarizing audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations for presentation to management and stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with client personnel to obtain necessary information, address inquiries, and facilitate the audit process.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, auditing regulations, and industry developments relevant to banking audits.
Participate in continuing professional education and training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of auditing practices.
Contribute to the development and improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and procedures to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:
Semi Qualified CA/CMA
Previous experience in auditing, preferably in statutory audits of banks required.
Knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements applicable to banking entities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and evaluate internal controls.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
